Veterinary Council Issues Statement on Sida Folded Ear Death, Ethics Investigation Underway

The Veterinary Council has issued a statement regarding the death of 'Sida Folded Ear' during transportation. They are currently collecting evidence to investigate ethical facts and affirm that if any actions violate the code of ethics, appropriate procedures will be followed and reported tothe public.This is to ensure transparency and accountability.

On 23 Feb 2026 GMT+7, reports stated that the Veterinary Council of Thailand released a statement concerning the death of an elephant, 'Sida Folded Ear' during transport.

The statement noted that news of the death of 'Sida Folded Ear' during transportation, which was under the care of a veterinary professional team, has caused widespread public concern and questions.

As the regulatory body overseeing veterinary professional standards and ethics, the Veterinary Council clarified that the case is currentlyunder investigation with the collection of relevant informationand evidence to conduct an ethical fact-finding process, strictly adhering to fairness, transparency, and scientific principles.
