Sahathai Department Store Phetchaburi Announces Planned Closure with Clearance Sale to Thank Customers

Residents of Phetchaburi feel saddened "Sahathai Department Store Phetchaburi" announces it will close on 10 May 2026 after operating for over 33 years, along with special promotionsas a farewellwith discounts and clearance sales to thank customers

On 23 February 2026, reports emerged online causing distress when an announcement from Sahathai (Phetchaburi) was published regarding its closure. It stated that Sahathai (Phetchaburi) first opened as a department store in November 1993, serving the people of Phetchaburi and nearby provinces for nearly 33 years.

Sahathai received very positive support. However, in 2026, Sahathai (Phetchaburi) reached the end of its lease agreement with Phetchaburi Municipality. With no successor to continue the business, the store decided not to renew the lease. Sahathai Department Store Phetchaburi will therefore cease operations and close on 10 May 2026.

The management of Sahathai expresses deep gratitude to customers from Phetchaburi and neighboring provinces for their continuous support, and thanks all Sahathai employees for their cooperation and dedication to providing excellent customer service.

Nevertheless, Sahathai staff will continue serving customers as usual until 9 May 2026. To show appreciation to the people of Phetchaburi and nearby provinces, the store will hold clearance sales withspecial promotionsfeaturing quality products and many gifts, starting from 25 February 2026 onward.

History of Sahathai (Phetchaburi)

Sahathai (Phetchaburi), operated by Sahathai Department Store Group Co., Ltd., opened as a department store on the road around the municipal market, Tha Rab subdistrict, Mueang district, Phetchaburi province in November 1993. It was the first department store in Phetchaburi Province, uniquely a large local department store rather than a central chain from Bangkok, which created strong ties with the local community.

Over nearly 33 years of operation, Sahathai has been very well received. People from Phetchaburi municipality, Mueang district, throughout the province, and neighboring provinces have continuously shopped there almost daily, with especially high customer numbers on weekends.

Then, on 14 February, Sahathai Department Store Group Co., Ltd., the owner of Sahathai(Phetchaburi),issued an official announcement regarding the store’s closure, which surprised many in Phetchaburi.Whichis about two months before the store closes, leading many Phetchaburi residents to flock to buy discounted items from the store’s clearance sales, along withspecial promotions.Some also took photos to keep as memories. Meanwhile, the Sahathai Group continues to operate other branches in Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces.
