After the election concluded, even though the new government under the Bhumjaithai Party has yet to be formed, it is believed that voters who supported Bhumjaithai are eagerly awaiting the fulfillment of campaign promises and the advancement of flagship policies, including 'Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2' which was delayed due to the dissolution of parliament.

When will 'Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2' start?

Based on the timeline for forming the government and Anutin Charnvirakul's role after the 8 Feb election, the following is expected:

• 8 Feb: General election
• By 9 Apr: Election Commission certifies 95% of MPs
• 10-16 Apr: New MPs report for duty
• After Songkran: The first parliamentary session convenes to elect the Speaker and Deputy Speakers and await royal appointment.
• May: Parliamentary session to select the prime minister; if approved, the appointment is submitted for royal assent. Afterwards, the prime minister appoints the cabinet and verifies qualifications, a process taking about three weeks.
• The cabinet drafts the government policy.
• Mid-June: Policy statement delivered to parliament.
• After the policy statement: The government will proceed with 'Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2'.

Simply put, those waiting to use the 'Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2' funds may be able to spend starting in June or later.

'Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2' fund amount

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anek Niti Thantapraphas revealed progress on the Khon La Khrueng Plus project, stating that systems must be prepared so that once the government is official, implementation can begin immediately.

The program maintains the original principle of 2,000 baht for those outside the tax system and 2,400 baht for those within it, also considering whether to distribute funds simultaneously or first to those missed in the initial round. The Thailand Individual Savings Account (TISA) may also be promoted to encourage savings.

Looking back at the program's conditions, 'Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2' is limited to 10 million rights holders, each receiving 2,000 baht, divided into two groups as follows:

• Five million rights for those who have never participated in the program and people affected by floods or living in provinces bordering Cambodia with ongoing conflicts.
• Five million rights for those who have previously participated in 'Khon La Khrueng Plus'.

It is expected that these 10 million eligible participants will receive 2,000 baht each during the entire program.

They can spend with participating stores between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. via G-Wallet in the Paotang app. There is no requirement to use the full 200 baht daily limit.

Eligibility criteria for registering for 'Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2'

• Must be a Thai national.
• Must be at least 16 years old on the registration date.
• Must have a Thai ID card.
• Must not hold a state welfare card according to the Ministry of Finance database as of 1 October 2025 GMT+7.
• Must not have suspended rights or be required to repay funds from government projects, including all phases of the Khon La Khrueng program.
