
The Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran urges Thai nationals in Iran to quickly register for evacuation back to Thailand in two rounds, with the first registration opening tomorrow (5 Mar 2026).
On 4 Mar 2026, reports stated that the Facebook page ofthe Royal Thai Embassy in Tehranpublished an announcement regarding the evacuation of Thais from Iran, stating that with approval from the Prime Minister, the embassy will arrange evacuation by road to the Republic of Turkey via the Razi border crossing (Iran side) and entering through the Kapkoy border crossing (Turkey side), and hereby informs Thai nationals in Iran as follows:
Due to the ongoing conflict situation which remains highly risky and uncertain, with potential to escalate further,
the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran announces it will proceed with evacuating Thai nationals by car from Tehran to Turkey for return to Thailand in two rounds.
1. The first round on 7 March 2026 requires registration by "5 March 2026."
2. The second round on 10 March 2026 requires registration by "8 March 2026."
Both departure schedules will leave the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran at 05:00 and are expected to arrive at the Razi border crossing around 19:00.
Dress code: Suitable for the weather conditions in Turkey, where temperatures may drop to -8 degrees Celsius.
Luggage for evacuees: One suitcase with a maximum weight of 20 kilograms.
The travel schedule may be subject to change depending on developments to ensure the safety of travelers.
The embassy requests cooperation from Thai nationals as follows:
1. Those wishing to leave Iran should contact and register via emergency phone numbers (+98) 912 159 8699 and (+98) 912 500 7933 to express their intent and register within the specified deadlines as soon as possible.
This is to enable the embassy to coordinate effectively and safely with relevant Iranian authorities.
2. Those whose Thai passports have expired should contact the embassy by 5 March 2026 (for the 7 March departure) and by 8 March 2026 (for the 10 March departure) to arrange for emergency travel documents.
For Thais working in Iran, please promptly register your intent to evacuate back to Thailand once Iranian government offices reopen on Saturday, 7 March 2026, and contact local police stations to obtain an exit visa before traveling. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy will expedite coordination with authorities to prioritize this process.
