On 5 March 2026, the Office of the Chularatchamontri announced the moon sighting to determine the first day of Shawwal (Eid al-Fitr) in the Hijri year 1447. To ensure the process goes smoothly, all Muslim brothers and sisters across Thailand are invited to observe the moon on Thursday, 19 March 2026, after sunset.
If the moon is sighted at the specified date and time, please report it to the Provincial Islamic Committee Office. The committee will verify and report the moon sighting results to the Chularatchamontri, who will then issue an official announcement to inform all Muslims nationwide.
