Border Relief Funds Fully Transferred to Victims Accounts in 7 Border Provinces

"Border Relief Funds" transferred Recently, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has completed transferring funds into the accounts of 695,945 affected households across 7 border provinces, totaling over 3.313 billion baht.

On 6 March 2016, Mr. Theerapat Kachamat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), announced that following hostile actions by foreign forces along the Thai-Cambodian border between July and December 2025, many people were affected. Damage occurred to homes, agricultural land, and public utilities. The Cabinet approved relief payments on 26 August 2025 and 23 December 2025, assigning DDPM to transfer aid funds through the Government Savings Bank to affected households in seven border provinces: Chanthaburi, Trat, Sa Kaeo, Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, Surin, and Si Sa Ket. Transfers to 695,945 households have been completed, totaling more than 3.313 billion baht.

All affected households received relief funds. Transfers per the 26 August 2025 Cabinet resolution succeeded for 307,188 households, totaling 1,375,518,000 baht (data as of 26 Dec 2025, 17:30). Transfers per the 23 December 2025 resolution succeeded for 388,757 households, totaling 1,938,376,000 baht (data as of 20 Feb 2026, 17:30). Si Sa Ket and Surin provinces had the highest amounts transferred and the largest numbers of households assisted.

As the agency responsible for distributing government relief funds to those affected by the foreign force actions along the Thai-Cambodian border, DDPM hopes this aid will suitably alleviate the hardships faced by the people. Nevertheless, DDPM continues working with relevant agencies to monitor the situation and any other potential hazards.

DDPM coordinates with local authorities to survey, inspect, and raise public awareness. If suspicious objects are found in residential or agricultural areas, residents must not approach, touch, or move them. They should promptly inform community leaders to coordinate experts for inspection and safe disposal. Furthermore, DDPM has instructed provincial disaster prevention offices and regional centers in Prachinburi (Region 3) and Ubon Ratchathani (Region 13) to be ready to facilitate evacuations if needed, ensuring the safety of people in border areas.
