When will “Co-Payment Plus Phase 2” begin?

Based on the government formation timeline after the 8 Feb election, Anutin Charnvirakul’s schedule is projected as follows:

• 8 Feb: General election for MPs.
• By 9 Apr: Election Commission certifies 95% of MPs.
• 10-16 Apr: New MPs report for duty.
• By mid-March 2026, within 15 days after the Election Commission certifies 95% of MPs and sufficient reporting, the prime minister will request the King to open parliament. The next day, parliament will convene to elect the speaker and first and second deputy speakers.
• Late March to early April 2026: Vote to elect the prime minister.
• April 2026: The prime minister appoints the new Cabinet, submits ministerial names for royal approval, followed by oath-taking and policy speech to parliament.
• Mid-April to May 2026: The new government presents policies to parliament; the second Anutin Cabinet begins its duties.

In simple terms, those awaiting the “Co-Payment Plus Phase 2” funds may begin spending in May to June or thereafter.

How much money will recipients receive in “Co-Payment Plus Phase 2”?

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Aeknithi Nitithanprapas stated that the system must be ready to operate as soon as the official government is in place to proceed immediately.

The program will maintain its original principle: 2,000 baht for those not in the tax system and 2,400 baht for those within it. Consideration will be given to whether to distribute funds simultaneously or prioritize those missed in the first round, alongside the Thailand Individual Savings Account (TISA) to promote savings, among other measures.

Reviewing the conditions of “Co-Payment Plus Phase 2,” it limits 10 million rights holders, each receiving 2,000 baht, divided into two groups as follows:

• Five million rights are allocated to those who never participated before and those living in flood-affected areas or provinces bordering Cambodia experiencing conflict.
• Five million rights are for people who previously participated in the “Co-Payment Plus” program.

It is expected that the 10 million rights holders in “Co-Payment Plus Phase 2” will receive total assistance of 2,000 baht per person throughout the program.

Spending is allowed at participating stores between 06:00 and 23:00 via the G-Wallet in the application. “Pao Tang” Users are not required to spend the full daily limit of 200 baht.

Eligibility for “Co-Payment Plus Phase 2” registration

• Must be a Thai national.
• Must be at least 16 years old on the registration date.
• Must have a Thai national ID card.
• Must not hold a state welfare card according to the Ministry of Finance’s database as of 1 October 2025.
• Must not be suspended or required to return funds from government programs, including all phases of the co-payment program.

4. Receive registration results via app notifications and SMS (within 3 days).

5. Top up G-Wallet before using the benefits.

For those who "have" received benefits from Co-Payment Phase 5 (2022):

1. Update the Pao Tang app to the latest version and activate G-Wallet.

2. Open the Pao Tang app and tap the "Co-Payment Plus Project" banner.

3. Accept terms and conditions and confirm registration.

4. Receive registration results via app notifications.

5. Top up G-Wallet before using the benefits.

Co-Payment Plus Phase 2 identity verification via “Pao Tang”

Verification via Krungthai NEXT account:

1. Log in to Krungthai NEXT.

2. Enter Krungthai NEXT PIN code.

3. Press the proceed button on the Pao Tang app.

4. Enter OTP sent to the phone number linked to Krungthai NEXT.

5. Set a new PIN code.

6. Confirm the new PIN code.

Applicants must use a Krungthai NEXT account linked to the same ID card number as their Pao Tang app.

Verification via facial scan:

1. Prepare for facial scan.

2. Scan face (can skip if the phone has no camera or is damaged).

3. Set a PIN code.

4. Confirm the PIN code.

5. Enable facial recognition or fingerprint scan.

6. Accept the Pao Tang app’s terms of use (mandatory for users).
