Phuket Rental Owner Shocked to Find Room Overflowing with Trash After Handsome Tenant Skips Rent of Over 10,000 Baht and Disappears

A Phuket rental owner was shocked to open the door and find the room overflowing with trash, leaving barely any space to walk, after a handsome young man skipped rent payments totaling over 10,000 baht and then disappeared without a trace.

At 4:00 p.m. on 12 Mar 2026 GMT+7, on Phuket's social media, photos were posted showing trash inside a rental room in Ban Kuku, Ratsada Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District. The post said, “The dorm owner was shocked when a handsome young man skipped rent for several months and ultimately ran off without paying. Upon entering the room, it was full of trash and very dirty. It was revealed he stayed alone and worked at a convenience store in Phuket.” Many people commented on the post.

Reporters contacted Khun Kob, the rental owner, to ask for details. She said the tenant was a man who worked as an employee at a well-known wholesale retail store in Phuket. He had rented the room for more than five years. In the past, he paid rent by bank transfer or sometimes left cash with an elderly woman living downstairs, but payments were sometimes partial or missed.

Three days ago, the tenant living downstairs informed her that water was leaking from the tenant’s room. She came to find the tenant to request access to repair the leak, but when she knocked on the door, the tenant refused to open it. Only a motorcycle was parked there. She then left.

On 10 Mar 2026 GMT+7, she returned to the rental to fix the leak. This time the door was unlocked and all the windows were covered with curtains. She opened the door and found the room nearly overflowing with trash. There was a single mattress and one fan, but everything else was garbage emitting a strong foul odor throughout. She plans to file a police report at Mueang Phuket Police Station regarding the tenant’s unpaid rent exceeding 15,000 baht, to locate him and recover the owed rent plus cleaning costs.
