"Gun Jomphalang" lamented how people underestimated the idea of using a jet ski to help three crew members of "Mayuree Naree" in Iran, asking not to dismiss it as impossible without trying.
Following the case of the family of the "Mayuree Naree" crew members who went missing after an Iranian attack, they asked "Gun Jomphalang" to coordinate with relevant agencies to assist in the search. Gun Jomphalang expressed his desire to use jet skis for the search and said he had already proposed this idea to the Navy. If access is granted, he has a team including world champion athletes ready to carry out the mission. However, the idea sparked controversy on social media, with many viewing it as impossible since the incident is part of a global conflict.
On 13 Mar 2026, the Facebook page "Gun Jomphalang Helps Fight" posted a message stating that before even starting, some people devalued the unconventional idea of using jet skis to assist people. It was similar to how previous efforts, such as armored suits, night vision cameras, bunkers, container fences, drones, and even jet skis for rescue, were initially doubted but ultimately proved effective. This was just a plan, yet some mocked it.
From my perspective, jet skis can reach the ship as they cover the distance quickly and target small areas. We have previously used jet skis to evacuate injured or immobile people from dangerous zones many times during various disasters. My team has navigated difficult spots in places like Mae Sai and Hat Yai to rescue many people from risky areas. We have tried many approaches and selected the best to reach hard-to-access locations. Our concept has a method that works every time. The conditions at the site are harsh, no less than at sea, except there are no bullets.
Based on assessment, the ship is probably about 30 kilometers from shore, 60 kilometers round trip. Jet skis have fuel to cover about 100 kilometers. From available images, the first set shows calm waves. The trip from Oman's coast is expected to take about 40 minutes, with some buffer. Upon arrival, SEAL or rescue units would board the ship to evacuate people. Jet skis are small and less likely to be attacked compared to larger boats. Before executing, we plan to test the plan in Thailand for a day. If transporting jet skis is difficult, we can purchase them in Oman.
My team regularly competes for trophies and undertakes long-distance sea rides and has extensive real-world experience. Many say it’s impossible, but my team believes it can be done. After consulting others, some see it as feasible. I confirm this is a concept and proposal we believe is achievable. It’s an alternative option whether used or not, we have no objection. It’s a thought to help people and won’t hurt anything. If the site sees it as useful, we are willing to collaborate with everyone and cover all expenses ourselves. We only ask for assistance in coordinating with the country for ship boarding and local contacts for information. Please don’t say it’s impossible if we haven’t tried yet.
