The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance confirms the Poor People's Card 2026 eligible recipients will receive funds continuously without interruption, even during the government transition period
On 18 March 2026, Mr. Lawaron Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, stated that concerns have been raised regarding the state welfare budget for 2026, specifically whether the allocated budget would be sufficient for ongoing operations.
The Ministry of Finance confirms that it has allocated the budget to ensure cardholders can use their benefits continuously until early April 2026, and that recipients of state welfare will receive their funds without interruption, even during the government transition period.
Currently, the Ministry of Finance is preparing to submit a proposal to the Cabinet for approval on managing the state welfare budget to reassure beneficiaries. Cardholders need not worry about budget sufficiency and can trust that the funds will be managed effectively. This is part of the technical management of the state welfare fund to guarantee continuous payments to recipients.
