Profile of “Boom Jakraphet,” a renowned amulet expert whose turning point was moving from a troubled youth to seriously studying amulets. He once lost hundreds of thousands to fake amulets, prompting him to use mindfulness and study more deeply. Today, he has a strong fan base and following.
“Boom Jakraphet,” also known as Mr. Jiraphat Deeprongsuk, is a famous amulet expert active in the amulet community for many years with a large fan base. Who is he, and where does he come from?
As a student, “Boom Jakraphet” was once a troubled youth who got into conflicts with classmates. The school sent him to ordain as a novice monk for 15 days, which he reluctantly accepted. During this time, he heard about “amulets” and the concept of spiritual empowerment, which he doubted because it was intangible.
A year later, he had the chance to visit an amulet center at a mall in Samrong with a friend and rented an amulet called “Luang Pu Phad from Ban Kruat Temple,” featuring Hanuman as its symbol. Wearing it, he noticed people stopped bothering him and began feeling respected. He started reciting prayers and thought that owning an amulet without praying would unlikely bring good fortune. From then on, he seriously studied amulets, spending every day at the amulet center watching people trade and talking to them.
At that time, he watched clips of “Boy Thaprachan,” which inspired him. “Boom” made “Boy” his idol, aspiring to earn 100 million baht like him and became one of Boy’s early fans. Friends also encouraged him, seeing his passion for amulets, and formed an amulet club with him as president.
When entering university at age 21, Boom used his savings to attend amulet markets, renting and buying amulets to sell online. His goal was to be self-reliant, even though he had some family support. He used what he had to build his career fully, earning the nickname “Boom Jakraphet” from his first notable amulet, the “Jakraphet coin.”
Boom’s path as an amulet expert included encountering fake amulets. He was taught to take responsibility for himself and always remind himself to stay mindful, not to be swayed too much by sellers’ words but to focus on the amulet itself. He once lost 400,000 baht to fake amulets, which made him cry and became a turning point to study and gain more knowledge seriously.
Additionally, Boom Jakraphet is known for live-streaming amulet auctions and rentals, emphasizing “No dealings with fake amulets” and “Real payment, real deals” to build customer trust. Being an “amulet expert” means genuinely knowing amulets well.
