Mourning May Korawipa, Rising Female Singer, Dies in Car Accident in Chachoengsao Province

Social media was filled with posts mourning “May Korawipa,” a rising female singer who died in a car accident in Chachoengsao Province. Her boyfriend, on his way to work, saw her motorcycle fall and hurried across the road to check on her, weeping.

Regarding the case of May Korawipa, an indie rising female singer aged 22, who died in an accident on 20 March 2026, the Facebook page Rock Buk Naowan posted scenes from the funeral, stating: “Sending you off for the last time.” It’s hard to believe... it’s heartbreaking. Sending strength to her mother.

From the investigation, many acquaintances and friends of May Korawipa, as well as online users, posted condolences for her passing, saying things like, “My condolences,” “Very sorry for your loss,” and “Though we met only a few times, she was very lovely and truly dedicated to her work.”

May Korawipa was considered a rising singer with a beautiful voice, continuously releasing cover songs and gaining popularity. The cremation and ash collection ceremony was recently held on 24 March amid mourning from the Rock Buk Naowan team and her fan community.



The tragic accident occurred at 07:30 on 20 March 2026. Police Lieutenant Sergeant Setthawut Saengchai, an investigating officer at Bang Pakong Police Station in Chachoengsao, along with rescue teams from Chachoengsao and Bang Pakong Hospital, inspected the accident site on Old Sukhumvit Road, heading toward Bang Pakong, Village 14, Bang Pakong Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District.

At the scene, a white Isuzu D-Max pickup truck with license plate 2 ฒก 6718 Bangkok was parked in the right lane with damage to the front and left side. The driver was Mr. Thanakrit Phayklaew, 58 years old.

Nearby, a blue-black Honda Click motorcycle with license plate ขจค 849 Prachuap Khiri Khan had fallen in the middle of the road. The body of Ms. Korawipa Wongsalun, or May, age 22, was found dead on the central divider. Her uncle arrived at the scene, as did her boyfriend who was on his way to work. Seeing her motorcycle down, he quickly stopped and ran over, only to find she had died. He sat crying, holding her lifeless body and hand, unwilling to let go.

Preliminary questioning of Mr. Thanakrit revealed that while driving toward Bang Pakong, he saw the motorcycle suddenly change from the left to the right lane quickly. He tried to brake and honk, but could not stop in time, resulting in a full collision that caused the fatality.
