On 26 March 2026, the Facebook pageof the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health,posted a message titled "High-Risk Groups Recommended for Meningococcal Vaccination," stating: "The Department of Disease Control recommends high-risk groups to get vaccinated against meningococcal disease.
1. Students studying abroad and those traveling to countries requiring vaccination (Note: according to vaccination requirements from each university and countries in the African Meningitis belt, from Gambia, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Guinea eastward to Ethiopia, or entering outbreak areas).
2. Pilgrims (Hajj/Umrah).
3. Certain immunocompromised individuals, those who have had their spleen removed, and those using immunosuppressive drugs.
4. Laboratory personnel who directly handle this bacteria.
Additionally, wearing masks, hand washing, and not sharing personal items are strictly advised."
