
Somchai Wongsawat has been royally appointed as Chairman of the Council of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, effective from 22 March 2026.
On 29 March 2026, reports indicated thatthe Royal Gazette websitepublished a Prime Minister's Office announcement regarding the appointment of the chairman and expert council members of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna.
Following the royal command appointing the chairman and 14 expert council members of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna on 12 September 2021, as announced by the Prime Minister's Office on 14 September 2021, whose terms ended on 11 September 2024, under the authority of sections 15(1) and (5) of the Rajamangala University of Technology Act B.E. 2568 (2025 CE), the 48th meeting (7/2568) of the university council on 4 July 2025 resolved to seek royal approval for the appointment of the chairman and 14 expert council members of the university as follows:
1. Somchai Wongsawat as Chairman of the University Council.
2. Krisada Sektrakul as Expert Council Member.
3. Kittichai Triratnasirichai as Expert Council Member.
4. Kosin Jamnongthai as Expert Council Member.
5. Charan Karunyawat as Expert Council Member.
6. Jitnara Navarat as Expert Council Member.
7. Narong Thamcharee as Expert Council Member.
8. General Theeradej Chatsathienpong as Expert Council Member.
9. Prayut Akkaraekthalin as Expert Council Member.
10. Worawut Thepthong as Expert Council Member.
11. Sakrin Phumirat as Expert Council Member.
12. Sirot Sawatpanich as Expert Council Member.
13. Surachai Kwanmuang as Expert Council Member.
14. Attakorn Kengpon as Expert Council Member.
15. Udomwit Chaisakulkiat as Expert Council Member.
The Secretariat of the Cabinet has submitted the request for royal appointment.
Now, the royal command has appointed the chairman and all expert council members of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna as proposed.
The appointments are effective from 22 March 2026.
