The Energy Ministry spokesperson confirms there will be no price increase. "Oil prices" this evening after rumors of an oil price hike. "Diesel" up to 60 baht per liter, assuring price management according to market mechanisms.


Today (29 March 2026), Mr. Weeraphat Kiattifungfoo, Deputy Permanent Secretary and Energy Ministry spokesperson, addressed the circulation of internal government documents of unspecified origin claiming a diesel price increase to 60 baht per liter.

The Energy Ministry confirms this information is untrue. Currently, the diesel price remains at 38.94 baht per liter. Future oil prices will depend on global market conditions, fuel fund compensation mechanisms, excise tax reductions by the Ministry of Finance, and the country's economic status.

Regarding rumors of a price hike at 18:00 today, the Energy Ministry firmly denies these claims. The public is advised to obtain oil price update information only from official government pages or trusted sources.

"In the past 2-3 days, a large amount of false information about oil price hikes has been widely shared online, causing public alarm. Examples include claims of diesel prices rising to 60 baht per liter and announcements of price increases at 6 p.m. today. All such reports are fake and lack credible sources."
