A biography of Adisai Bodharamik, former minister in multiple ministries and a key figure in the Thai telecommunications sector, who passed away peacefully at the age of 85.


Following the news of his passing, “Pitch Bodharamik,” son of Mr. Adisai Bodharamik, posted on the Pete Bodharamik page announcing his father's peaceful passing at 7:28 a.m. on 28 Mar 2026 GMT+7, which deeply saddened the family.

Mr. Adisai Bodharamik was born on 23 Apr 1940 GMT+7. He was a former Thai politician and engineer, having served as Minister of Education, Minister of Commerce, and Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office. He was the son of Police Lieutenant Boonying (deceased), married to Associate Professor Dr. Pitchanee Bodharamik, and they had one son.

Education: Completed secondary education at Vajiravudh College in 1957, earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Communications from Chulalongkorn University in 1962, a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii, USA (on an East-West Center scholarship) in 1967, and a Doctor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, USA, in 1970.

Career history

  • In 1962, he was an operations officer in the telecommunications project at the Ministry of Transport.
  • In 1970, he worked at the Telephone Organization of Thailand (resigned in 1977).
  • In 1978, he joined Vyt Group Co., Ltd. (resigned in 1982).
  • In 1982, he became chairman of the board of Jasmine International Public Company Limited.
  • In 1984, he was chairman of Siam Teltech Computer Co., Ltd.
  • In 1988, he became chairman of Acumen Co., Ltd.
  • In 1991, he was chairman of Radiofone Co., Ltd.
  • In 1991, he also chaired Jasmine Submarine Telecommunications Co., Ltd.
