Latest update on the project "Khon La Khrueng Plus" plans to expand rights for state welfare card holders to purchase goods at participating stores, with expected implementation in May this year.
On 31 March 2026, Dr. Aekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, stated that the Ministry of Finance's revenue in March met targets. He also instructed the Comptroller General's Department to accelerate disbursements to help support the economy.
Regarding questions about a possible fuel tax reduction, the Finance Minister explained that the oil fund mechanism and excise tax system effectively subsidize prices. Therefore, whichever tool is used, the impact on the public remains similar. The Ministry's goal is to assist people as much as possible.
Mr. Lawan Sangsonit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, commented on progress in public assistance measures: This time, the "Khon La Khrueng Plus" project will allow state welfare card holders to use their cards to buy from stores participating in the Khon La Khrueng program, under the name "Thai Chua Thai Plus". It is currently being designed to align with the budget, with expectations to start in May. The welfare cards are expected to receive top-ups exceeding 100 baht. This measure will also be submitted at the first Cabinet meeting.
Looking back at the conditions for "Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2," there is a limit of 10 million rights, with 2,000 baht per person. Eligible recipients are divided into two groups:
It is expected that the 10 million rights holders in "Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2" will receive 2,000 baht throughout the program. They can spend at participating stores from 06:00 to 23:00 via the G-Wallet in the "Pao Tang" application, without needing to use the full 200 baht daily limit.

Reviewing the eligibility for "Khon La Khrueng Plus" shows that state welfare card holders have not been able to use "Khon La Khrueng Plus" benefits because the government already provides 1,700 baht in assistance, paid in two installments of 850 baht each month.

Further updates will be reported in due course.
