Thai Chua Thai Plus Checks Conditions for State Welfare Cardholders to Use Khon La Khrueng

When will "Thai Chua Thai Plus" start? Check the conditions that allow state welfare cardholders to use "Khon La Khrueng" at participating stores.

According to Mr. Lawaron Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the "Khon La Khrueng" project will now allow state welfare cardholders to use their cards to buy from stores participating in the "Khon La Khrueng" scheme. This is called the "Thai Chua Thai Plus" project, which is currently being designed to align with the budget. It is expected to start by May, with the card top-up amount expected to exceed 100 baht. This measure will be submitted for the first Cabinet meeting.

Conditions for "Khon La Khrueng Plus"

Looking back at the conditions for the "Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2" project before the dissolution of the House, it planned to support 10 million eligible people, each receiving 2,000 baht. These beneficiaries would be divided into two groups as follows.

  • The first group includes people who have never participated in the project and those in flood-affected areas and provinces along the Cambodian border conflict, totaling 5 million beneficiaries.
  • The second group includes people who have previously participated in the "Khon La Khrueng Plus" project, also 5 million beneficiaries.

It is expected that the 10 million beneficiaries of "Khon La Khrueng Plus Phase 2" will receive 2,000 baht each for the entire project, usable at participating stores between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. via the G-Wallet in the "Pao Tang" application, without the necessity to spend the full 200 baht daily limit.

Eligibility criteria for the "Khon La Khrueng Plus" project

1. Must be a Thai national.
2. Must be at least 16 years old on the registration date.
3. Must have a national ID card.
4. Must not hold a state welfare card according to the Ministry of Finance database as of 1 October 2025.
5. Must not be suspended or required to return funds by the NESDC for state projects, including:
(1) "Khon La Khrueng" project phases 1 through 5.

When will "Thai Chua Thai Plus" be used?

However, looking at the eligibility for "Khon La Khrueng Plus" in the past, state welfare cardholders could not use this benefit because the government had already topped up their accounts with 1,700 baht, paid as 850 baht per month for two months.

Meanwhile, the "Thai Chua Thai Plus" project will add benefits allowing state welfare cardholders to spend under "Khon La Khrueng Plus" at participating stores. Final details await government clarification, with an expected start in May 2026.

Updates will be reported as they become available.
