1 - 7 Apr: Northern Thailand to Prepare for Hot to Very Hot Weather, Southern Region to Expect Rain

The Meteorological Department forecasts the weather for the next 7 days for "Northern Thailand". It will experience hot to very hot weather. On 1 April 2026, the Meteorological Department forecasted the weather conditions for the 7-day period from 1 to 7 April 2026, stating that northern Thailand will generally experience hot weather with haze during the daytime, and very hot conditions in some areas of the North, Northeast, and Central regions due to low atmospheric pressure.Due toheat covering northern Thailand, while weak southern and southwest winds prevail over the area, northern Thailand will continue to experience thunderstorms and some strong gusty winds throughout the period.

For the South, from 2 to 7 April 2026, thunderstorms are expected in some areas with hot weather during the day, as easterly and southeasterly winds cover the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea. The waves in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea are weak, with wave heights about 1 meter, but in areas with thunderstorms, waves will exceed 1 meter throughout the period.

Precautions: The public in Thailand is advised to take care of their health due to hot to very hot weather by avoiding working or engaging in outdoor activities for prolonged periods, and to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and strong gusty winds in some areas. Fishermen in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea should avoid sailing in areas experiencing thunderstorms during the period.

Central Region.

Generally hot weather, with very hot conditions in some areas, and haze during the daytime. Thunderstorms and some strong gusty winds are expected, mostly in the southern part of the region throughout the period.

• Maximum temperatures 36–41 degrees Celsius.
• Southerly winds at 10–15 km/h.

Eastern Region.

Generally hot weather with haze during the daytime. Thunderstorms are expected in 10–20% of the area, with some strong gusty winds throughout the period.

• Southerly winds at 15–30 km/h.
• Waves about 1 meter high; in areas with thunderstorms, waves exceed 1 meter.
• Minimum temperatures 24–28 degrees Celsius.
• Maximum temperatures 33–39 degrees Celsius.

Southern Region (East Coast).

Hot weather during the day with thunderstorms in 10–20% of the area, mostly in the southern part throughout the period.Southeasterly winds.Winds at 15–30 km/h.
