Big Jad to Propose Parliament Pilot Program to Cut Fuel Prices by 0.0454 Baht per Liter, Open to All Vehicles Without Card Checks

"Big Jad" plans to propose three consecutive sessions to parliament on 8 April, collaborating with operators to cut fuel prices by 0.0454 baht per liter. The program will start before 10 April, allowing all vehicles to refuel without card checks, assuring full legal compliance. The chairman of the PAO Association is preparing to expand this nationwide to 76 provinces.

On 2 April 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamronwit Thupkrajang, chairman of Pathum Thani PAO, chaired a meeting to finalize measures to reduce fuel prices to help the public at the 5th-floor conference room of Pathum Thani PAO office. Attendees included Thepsuriya Sa-at, Pathum Thani provincial local administration officer; Chatree Srisan, director of the Association of Provincial Administrative Organizations of Thailand; Police Captain Dr. Trilup Thupkrajang, mayor of Rangsit City; PAO executives and council members; heads of PAO departments; and representatives of 317 local gas station operators.

The meeting extensively discussed legal limitations and operational guidelines for each service provider. Thepsuriya Sa-at, Pathum Thani local administration officer; Chaiwat Inlert, PAO council chairman; and relevant department heads provided consultation to ensure the budget use complied with government regulations. The discussions concluded satisfactorily, with all operators agreeing to cooperate. Pathum Thani PAO will subsidize the price difference, lowering fuel prices by 0.0454 baht per liter for all fuel types. The PAO will propose the budget approval to the PAO council in three consecutive sessions on 8 April, aiming to start implementation before 10 April 2026. All vehicles can refuel as usual without checking vehicle registration or ID cards to avoid delays and ensure broad assistance. The initial project duration is six months, using the "Pathum Thani model" as a template for nationwide expansion.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamronwit emphasized at the meeting that the project has been thoroughly researched and legally reviewed, confirming it can proceed through parliamentary processes to assist citizens amid high fuel prices and living costs. The decision was made to offer an open discount accessible to all vehicles without registration or ID checks to prevent confusion at gas stations. The price will be cut by 0.0454 baht per liter. To expedite the process, the council president agreed to convene the council on 8 April to approve the budget in three readings, enabling the program to start before 10 April, coinciding with increased travel during the festival. If hoarding or fraud by gas stations is detected, legal staff are ready to act immediately, with complaint hotline signs posted on all pumps. Efforts are also underway to explore other legal ways to provide greater assistance to the public, and full commitment to these efforts was expressed.

Additionally, Pol. Lt. Gen. Kamronwit is promoting this concept as a model, with Chatree Srisan from the Association of Provincial Administrative Organizations collecting data to prepare for expansion to all 76 provinces. Provinces ready with budget can adopt the Pathum Thani model to aid citizens during this crisis. Appreciation was expressed to cooperating operators for their sacrifice and collaboration. He affirmed that this initiative is genuinely for the benefit of Pathum Thani residents and travelers, hoping the measure will provide tangible and swift relief.
