In an era where"fuel prices are high,"many citizens hope that the government underPrime Minister Anutin Charnvirakulwill introduce measures to assist the public in easing the daily rising cost of living.
One of the flagship measures eagerly awaited is "Khon La Khrueng Plus."According to Prime Minister Anutin, the Khon La Khrueng program is essential and now needs to be expanded with several "plus" additions. Especially facing the fuel situation, it must be enhanced further to provide citizens with compensation. All ministers responsible for their ministries will participate in drafting, and as Prime Minister,he will add and improve the program without reducing any existing benefits..
Similarly, Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas confirmed that Khon La Khrueng Phase 2 is definitely coming; details are being designed to be proposed to the Cabinet. It is expected to start in May and will assist both vulnerable groups and Khon La Khrueng participants combined. State welfare cardholders will also be able to spend in participating Khon La Khrueng stores under the program named "Thai Chuay Thai Plus."
Meanwhile, Lornorn Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, stated that discussions to improve the "Khon La Khrueng Plus" program are ongoing, with no final decision yet on eligible groups, individual spending limits, or other conditions. Initially, the program will be renamed "Thai Chuay Thai Plus" and open for new registrations in April, before launching in May. State welfare cardholders can still use their benefits as usual.
The previous eligibility criteria for "Khon La Khrueng Plus" participants are as follows:
1. Must be a Thai national.
2. Must be at least 16 years old on the registration date.
3. Must possess a national ID card.
4. Must not hold a state welfare card according to the Ministry of Finance database as of 1 October 2025.
5. Must not be suspended or recalled by the Fiscal Policy Office regarding state projects, including (1) Khon La Khrueng Phase 1, (2) Phase 2, (3) Phase 3, (4) Phase 4, and (5) Phase 5.
Reviewing eligibility shows state welfare cardholders could not participate in "Khon La Khrueng Plus" previously, as the government already provided 1,700 baht in aid, divided as 850 baht per month for two months.
