
"The Army" clarifies the issue "Dormitory brawl video" Orders confinement punishment for 10 active-duty soldiers and disciplinary action against commanders according to rank
FacebookArmy Spokesperson TeamPosted a statement saying that following the circulation of a video showing a brawl among soldiers inside a dormitory building on social media, the Army investigated and found that the incident occurred on 27 March 2026 at a unit under the Reserve Forces Center, Thanarat Camp, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It involved a physical fight among active-duty soldiers caused by personal conflicts.
After the incident, the Commander of the Reserve Forces Center appointed an investigative committee for the personnel involved. Ten active-duty soldiers were found guilty of assaulting fellow soldiers within the unit under the Military Discipline Act of 1933 (B.E. 2476). They were punished with confinement for three months and criminal charges for assault are under further consideration.
Additionally, disciplinary punishments were imposed on responsible personnel for dereliction of duty and failure to supervise troops properly, including the unit duty sergeant who was confined for seven days, the company commander confined to quarters for seven days, and the section chief confined to quarters for three days. The injured soldiers have been sent for medical treatment at Thanarat Camp Hospital.
The Army thanks all parties involved for reporting and investigating the misconduct within the military unit, consistent with the Army’s policy to strictly enforce military discipline and command. Should any undesirable incidents occur, the Army is ready to investigate and take legal action against offenders immediately to resolve issues comprehensively and restore normal conditions promptly.
