Fuel Fund Committee Resolution No. 44 Cuts Diesel Subsidy to 6.41 Baht/Liter, Watch Retail Prices

The Fuel Fund Committee (FFC) Resolution No. 44 reduces the diesel subsidy to 6.41 baht per liter, monitoring retail prices.


On 9 April 2026, reporters reported that the Fuel Fund Committee (FFC) announced the meeting results on setting fund contribution rates, compensation rates, refunds from the fund, and compensation refund rates for fuel as follows.

  • The diesel B7 subsidy rate was reduced from 15.00 baht per liter to 6.41 baht per liter.
  • The diesel B20 subsidy rate was reduced from 17.03 baht per liter to 9.58 baht per liter.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy reported on Thailand's and international energy situations, diesel oil reserves and sales, the status of the Fuel Fund, and related matters for 9 April 2026, including domestic oil reserves and diesel production and sales.

  • Regarding domestic oil reserves as of 9 April 2026, Thailand has enough oil to meet demand for approximately 109 days, consisting of 25 days of legally required reserves, 22 days of commercial reserves, 31 days of oil in transit, and 31 days of confirmed procurement.

  • Diesel production and sales data as of 7 April 2026 show diesel production at 83.37 million liters and sales at 68.69 million liters.

As for domestic and foreign retail oil prices and the Fuel Fund's status,

  • referencing PTT prices: diesel (B7) at 48.40 baht, diesel (B20) at 43.40 baht, gasoline (E20) at 38.95 baht, gasohol (95) at 43.95 baht, and gasohol (91) at 43.58 baht per liter.

  • Comparing Thailand's retail oil prices with ASEAN countries, the average gasoline price in Thailand is 43.95 baht per liter, while in the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Singapore, it ranges from 52.47 to 87.31 baht per liter. Diesel in Thailand costs 48.40 baht per liter, whereas in Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Singapore, it ranges from 55.28 to 118.10 baht per liter. (Today, Malaysia raised diesel prices by 5.44 baht.)

  • The Fuel Fund's estimated status as of 9 April 2026 shows a deficit of 59.007 billion baht, with daily diesel subsidy compensation at approximately 1.22061 billion baht.
