
Check how to receive an additional 100 baht for state welfare cardholders (the 'poor card') in April 2026. The money will be transferred to eligible accounts on Songkran, 13 April 2026 GMT+7.
Regarding the progress of the "Khon La Khrueng" (Half-Half) project, Mr. Lawan Sangsnit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, revealed that this time state welfare cardholders will be able to use their cards to purchase items from stores participating in the Half-Half project under a new scheme called“Thai Chai Thai Plus Project”which is currently being designed to align with the budget and is expected to start within May 2026 GMT+7.
For state welfare cardholders, on 11 April, the Ministry of Finance will propose to the Cabinet to approve a one-month top-up of 100 baht for 13.3 million cardholders, totaling 1.3 billion baht. If approved, the Ministry is ready to immediately transfer the money to cardholders on 13 April.
For state welfare cardholders of 2022, rights can be accessed via the smart ID card. In April 2026, they will be entitled to the following:
- A 300 baht monthly allowance per person for purchasing goods
- An 80 baht discount on cooking gas per person for every 3 months (April - June 2026)
- A 750 baht monthly transportation allowance per person for public transport systems, including buses, trains, BMTA, BTS, and participating private buses
- An additional 200 baht monthly disability allowance will be provided
Meanwhile, the government’s 100 baht top-up for one month in April will be transferred directly to state welfare cardholders’ accounts on 13 April without any registration required. This money can be used immediately at stores participating in the state welfare card program.
However, final confirmation awaits the special Cabinet meeting on 11 April 2026. Any updates will be reported accordingly.
