Before becoming "Phra Sin Khit"
In his childhood, Luangta Sintharap was born into a poor family and had little formal education. As a teenager, around ages 13–14, he worked as a water server in a gambling den and became involved with gangs at age 15, leading to imprisonment for about three years. After release, he had a brief five-month relationship with a younger woman and later married, having two children.
In 1999, he was first ordained alongside a nephew at Wat Pa Kung in Roi Et Province. After three months, his nephew disrobed, but he remained ordained. He was then appointed abbot at the abandoned Wat Pa Phu Than Nok in Mukdahan Province and later moved to reside in various temples. He remained ordained for eight years before disrobing in 2007 after being instructed by his teacher to disrobe and re-ordain.
After disrobing, he worked in sales and re-ordained in 2014 at a branch temple of Luang Pu Si with the district monk leader of Pho Chai District, Roi Et Province. He later decided to live independently in Ubon Ratchathani Province, adopting the name "Phra Sin Khit," living alone in a small shelter and practicing Anapanasati meditation for five years until discovered and shared on social media, gaining recognition.
