Mourning the death of a Chulalongkorn University student and CU Band member, alumnus of a renowned school's marching band, who died in an accident caused by a sudden lane change that cut in front of the tuk-tuk he was seated in.
On 16 April 2026, the Facebook page“Music Education, Chulalongkorn University” posted a message expressing condolences for the student who died in the accident. It stated that the Department of Music Education, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, deeply mourns the passing of Mr. Phakphon Siribut, a fourth-year student in the Music Education program (Western music).
During his studies, Phakphon was a dedicated, focused, and responsible student, both as a learner and an active participant in the department's and university's musical activities. He was a member of CU Band (Western Music Club, Chulalongkorn University Student Union), regularly involved in band performances and academic events. He was also a good friend, kind-hearted, and beloved by faculty and fellow students.
His passing is a great loss to the department, faculty, and fellow students. Our thoughts and support go out to his family and all close to him.
Similarly, the Facebook page“Black Orange Wind Symphony” posted a message of condolence stating:“The Marching Band of Rajavinit Bangkaew School sincerely mourns the passing of Mr. Phakphon Siribut, alumnus of Rajavinit Bangkaew Marching Band and member of the Black Orange Wind Symphony.”
Reports indicate that Mr. Phakphon Siribut died in an accident caused by a vehicle's sudden lane change that cut in front of the tuk-tuk carrying him and his friends, causing the tuk-tuk to lose control and overturn, resulting in his death.
His family has arranged the funeral rites at Sala 4, Bang Na Nai Temple, a royal monastery, from 15 to 17 April 2026, with the cremation scheduled for Saturday, 18 April 2026.
