On 20 April 2026, the Energy Fund Management Committee approved a reduction in the oil fund rates for both diesel and gasoline groups, resulting in lower retail diesel prices to align with the declining trend in global oil prices.
On 20 April, global market prices for diesel closed at about 155 US dollars per barrel, and gasoline closed at about 124 US dollars per barrel, down and up respectively from 16 April when they closed at approximately 172 and 122 US dollars per barrel. The fund rates effective from 21 April 2026 are as follows.
For diesel fuel, the compensation rate for Diesel B7 was reduced.The compensation was loweredby 1.07 baht per liter for Diesel B7 and by 0.72 baht per liter for Diesel B20, resulting in retail diesel prices dropping by 1.20 baht per liter. Diesel B7 is now priced at 41.70 baht per liter, and Diesel B20 at 34.70 baht per liter.
Meanwhile,for the gasoline group,and gasohol, fund contribution rates were also adjusted. Retail prices at gas stations for gasohol remain unchanged, while gasoline fund collection was reduced by 0.56 baht per liter to 10.85 baht per liter.
Gasohol 95 and Gasohol 91 reduced fund collection by 0.52 baht per liter to 3.51 baht per liter, Gasohol E20 increased compensation by 0.45 baht per liter to 1.71 baht per liter, andGasoholE85 reduced fund collection by 0.14 baht per liter to 2.06 baht per liter.
The committee has managed to reduce expenses following the decline in global oil prices—from daily payments exceeding 1.2 billion baht to only 53.75 million baht per day. This will enhance the liquidity of the Energy Fund, enabling it to effectively handle future energy price crises and allowing retail diesel prices to be reduced continuously to ease the cost of living for the public.Because
