On 23 April 2026, the Meteorological Department's websiteissued the announcement titled "Summer Storm in Upper Thailand (Effective 23–25 April 2026), Announcement No. 3." It stated that between 23–25 April 2026, upper Thailand will experience a summer storm characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, and localized heavy rain, with possible lightning in some areas. The northern and northeastern regions will be affected first, followed by the central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the eastern region. This is due to a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China extending over the northeast and the South China Sea, while upper Thailand remains generally hot to very hot.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to be cautious of the summer storm dangers by avoiding open spaces, large trees, weak structures, and unstable billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops and livestock from potential damage. People should also take care of their health during this changing weather period.
