Student Loan Fund Offers Borrowers in Arrears a Chance to Settle Debts Without Legal Action

Student Loan Fund offers an opportunity for borrowers with overdue debts to expedite repayment or restructure their loans to avoid legal proceedings.

The Facebook page of the Student Loan Fund posted a message titled "SLF offers borrowers in arrears a chance to expedite repayment or restructure debts to avoid legal action." It stated that

Currently, the Student Loan Fund (SLF) will send contract termination letters to borrowers with overdue debts, giving them a chance to repay outstanding amounts to avoid court proceedings. Additionally, SLF allows borrowers to restructure their loans online via the SLF website. Once borrowers sign an online debt restructuring agreement, SLF will immediately halt legal action.

SLF revealed that it is now sending contract termination letters to borrowers who have overdue debts for at least four consecutive years and are due to face legal action by 5 July 2026, involving approximately 100,000 cases. Borrowers who do not wish to face court proceedings are urged to promptly settle their debts with SLF or, if unable to pay, to enter into an online debt restructuring agreement via www.studentloan.or.th. Identity verification and electronic signing can be completed through the Paotang app and ThaID.

This debt restructuring allows borrowers to resume repayments and avoid court proceedings. Moreover, the restructuring provides benefits including:

• Immediate release of guarantors upon contract signing,
• Extended repayment period up to 15 years,
• Equal monthly installment payments due by the 5th of each month,
• and upon full repayment without contract violations, SLF will grant a 100% waiver of all accrued fines prior to the agreement.

SLF emphasizes that any borrower who does not wish to enter court proceedings should urgently repay their debts or sign an online debt restructuring agreement with SLF.
