Details of the “Thai Chuay Thai” program reveal recipients will receive 1,000 baht monthly for 4 months and must spend the amount within the month the benefit is granted. Registration opens in May, and spending starts in June through the Paotang app.
On 30 Apr 2026 GMT+7, reporters updated on the “Khon La Khrueng Plus” program, which is set to be renamed “Thai Chuay Thai.” Today, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul convened the economic team to urgently finalize the “Thai Chuay Thai Plus” project guidelines for submission to the Cabinet next week, as the program will launch on 1 Jun 2026 GMT+7.
Before the meeting, Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Pharadon Prisana-nantakul said the discussion would likely focus on the “Thai Chuay Thai” program, with clear directions expected. He anticipated the Cabinet would make a decision next week, so today's meeting was a preliminary discussion.
Additionally, Pharadon revealed the target groups eligible for the “Thai Chuay Thai” program initially comprise two parts: first, 13.2 million State Welfare Card holders; second, participants from the original “Khon La Khrueng” scheme. They are currently reviewing the numbers, which are expected to total over 30 million beneficiaries combined—13.2 million welfare card holders plus about 20 million existing program participants, possibly more.
Under the “Thai Chuay Thai” program, eligible individuals will receive financial support amounting to 4,000 baht. This is distributed as 1,000 baht per month over four months, expected to start from June to September 2026 GMT+7. Daily spending is capped at 100 baht, with the government covering 60% and the citizen paying 40%. Unused daily amounts can be carried over to the next day.
