As May 2026 arrives, only a few weeks remain before the new school term starts for children. This period brings increased expenses for parents, including student uniforms, shoes, and school supplies.

The cost of student uniforms for 2026 is a significant expense parents must prepare for before the school year begins. For the 2026 academic year, the government continues its policy to support all levels from kindergarten through basic education, as approved by the Cabinet resolution on 26 July 2022.

2026 student uniform subsidy

To receive the 2026 student uniform subsidy under the 15-year free education scheme, parents do not need to register via an app but must submit documents directly to the school by June 2026. The subsidy can be claimed once per year. Schools will transfer money to parents' accounts or pay cash for uniform purchases. Parents must then provide full receipts (summary receipts are not accepted) or proof of expenditure to the school for reimbursement processing.

Although the government's student uniform subsidy is paid only once per academic year and may not cover all expenses, it is believed to help ease the financial burden on parents to some extent.
