Register for Thai Help Thai Program: Government Covers 60% with 1,000 Baht Monthly for 4 Months

Register for the Thai Help Thai program via the "Pao Tang" app, where the government covers 60% and citizens pay 40%, receiving 1,000 baht monthly for four months. Funds must be used within each respective month.

The progress of the "Half-Half" project, renamed "Thai Help Thai," was discussed today during the Cabinet meeting. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Akniti Nitithanprapas will propose a draft royal decree to borrow 400 billion baht to address the new economic crisis. The aim is to balance short-term public relief with long-term national restructuring.

The 400 billion baht loan will be split equally between mitigating impacts and restructuring the Thai economy, designed to be flexible and adaptable to circumstances. The first 200 billion baht targets vulnerable groups and grassroots economic stimulation through the "Half-Half" program, adjusting the co-payment ratio to 60% government and 40% citizens. Initially, the framework covers 30 million people with 4,000 baht each. The Finance Ministry is currently reviewing details for efficiency and will present it to the Cabinet on 12 May 2026 after loan approval.

Meanwhile, holders of the State Welfare Card, currently numbering 13.2 million, are under consideration for new registration to update information and ensure precise financial aid. Reports indicate they will receive 4,000 baht credited to their accounts, divided into 1,000 baht monthly over four months, pending final confirmation.
