The Meteorological Department has issued its second bulletin on unstable weather conditions across Thailand, identifying provinces expected to be affected from 7-10 May 2026.
On 6 May 2026, the Meteorological Department announced in its second bulletin that from 7-10 May 2026, northern, northeastern, eastern, and central regions, including Bangkok and its metropolitan area, will experience increased thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and localized heavy rain.
Following this period, temperatures will ease as a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China spreads over the northeastern region and the South China Sea. Additionally, southerly and southeasterly winds will carry moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea over upper Thailand.
Meanwhile, easterly winds covering the southern region and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, causing some areas in the south to experience heavy rain.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and strong gusty winds by avoiding open spaces, standing under large trees, weak structures, and unstable billboards. They should also be alert for hazards from heavy and accumulated rainfall that could lead to flash floods and sudden mountain runoff. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect agricultural produce and livestock from potential damage, as well as take care of their health during the changing weather.
