Timeline revealed "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" Preparing to open registration for 4,000 baht benefit; latest conditions updated before June 1, 2026 launch
Project progress "Khon La Khrueng Plus" which has been renamed "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" On 5 May 2026, following a Cabinet meeting, a resolution was approved to issue a royal decree authorizing the Ministry of Finance to borrow 400 billion baht to address the livelihood crisis caused by global circumstances.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Akniti Nitithanprapas said Thai Chuey Thai Plus is one of the programs aligned with the objective to assist citizens and entrepreneurs. Funding will partly come from this borrowing and partly from budget transfers, with preliminary data already available including normal budgets. The exact borrowing amount to be used is yet to be detailed, but the Thai Chuey Thai Plus program is confirmed. The Ministry of Finance will decide the source of funds.
Regarding clarity on citizen eligibility for Thai Chuey Thai Plus, preliminary budgeting suggests about 30 million entitlements. He believes 30 million is sufficient, as previous implementations reached up to 28 million entitlements.
Details on eligibility, such as the age limit of over 18 years, are still under consideration. Registration for Khon La Khrueng and the new round of state welfare cardholders will open simultaneously in late May.
Eligible individuals will receive 4,000 baht, paid as 1,000 baht monthly over 4 months, usable from June to September 2026. Daily spending is capped at 100 baht, with the government covering 60% and citizens 40%. Unused daily balance can be carried forward to the next day.
However, unused monthly amounts under 1,000 baht will not roll over to the following month.
