Progress on the 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' project, now renamed 'Thai Chuay Thai Plus,' was recently clarified by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Akniti Nitithanprapas. He stated that about 30 million entitlements are expected, with registration opening at the end of May 2026.
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Akniti Nitithanprapas revealed preparations for a project supporting both vulnerable groups and the 'Khon La Khrueng' participants combined. Holders of the State Welfare Card or poverty card can use funds at stores participating in the 'Khon La Khrueng' program, under the new project name: 'Thai Chuay Thai Plus'
'Khon La Khrueng Plus': 20 million registered participants
'Thai Chuay Thai Plus': Expected to open registration for about 30 million entitlements
'Khon La Khrueng Plus': Individuals who file personal income tax returns (forms P.N.D. 90, 91, or 95) for the 2024 tax year will receive 2,400 baht per person. The general public will receive up to 2,000 baht per person.
'Thai Chuay Thai Plus': Eligible recipients will receive 4,000 baht in aid, paid monthly at 1,000 baht over four months. Any unused amount in a month will not roll over to the next month.
'Khon La Khrueng Plus': Recipients use the 'Pao Tang' application to spend, receiving a 50% subsidy on food, drinks, goods, and services, up to 200 baht per person per day.
'Thai Chuay Thai Plus': Recipients can spend 100 baht daily, with the government covering 60% and the individual paying 40%. Unused daily amounts can be carried over to the next day, but unused monthly totals up to 1,000 baht will not roll over to the next month.
'Khon La Khrueng Plus': Small retailers register through the 'Tung Ngern' app, covering the entire country.
'Thai Chuay Thai Plus': This new project includes small retailers, restaurants, and street vendors as before, but will also connect with the 'Flag Shop' network and more community stores, allowing State Welfare Card holders to use their special funds more broadly, not limited to specific stores.
