The Meteorological Department issued its fourth alert warning of unstable weather across Thailand, advising provinces to prepare for thunderstorms, strong gusts, and heavy rain in some areas, with impacts lasting until 10 May 2026 GMT+7.
On 7 May 2026 GMT+7, the Meteorological Department announced a weather warning for unstable conditions across Thailand (effective until 10 May 2026 GMT+7), issuing its fourth bulletin (No. 53/2569).
It stated that the North, Northeast, East, Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will see increasing thunderstorms with strong gusty winds and heavy rain in some places. Afterwards, temperatures will begin to cool down.
This is due to a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China spreading over the Northeast and the South China Sea, combined with southerly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and South China Sea over upper Thailand.
Meanwhile, easterly winds covering the South and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, causing heavy rain in some southern areas. Residents in these zones are advised to beware of dangers from thunderstorms, strong gusts, and to avoid open spaces under large trees, fragile structures, and billboards. They should also be cautious of heavy and accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and mountain runoff. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect agricultural products and livestock from potential damage, while also taking care of their health during these changing weather conditions.
