Registration for the Thai Chua Thai Plus program will open on 25 May, with spending allowed from 1 June 2026. This program also consolidates the 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' and state welfare card programs into one.
Project progress 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' which has been renamed 'Thai Chua Thai Plus'. Recently, Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, clarified that the Thai Chua Thai Plus program is expected to provide about 30 million entitlements, with registration opening in late May 2026.
Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed the progress of the Thai Chua Thai Plus project: "This program combines both the 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' and 'state welfare card' programs under one name, called ' Thai Chua Thai Plus'. This allows the use of the existing 1.4 to 1.5 million participating stores collectively, which should increase sales for these businesses.
The government initially confirms its original plan to open registration for citizens on 25 May 2026, with spending starting on 1 June 2026. The exact number of eligible recipients is still under review, coordinating with the Ministry of Interior to obtain clear figures, as this program merges the 13.2 million state welfare cardholders and the previous Khon La Khrueng Plus beneficiaries.
Eligible general public members will receive benefits under Thai Chua Thai Plus, with the government supporting 60% of expenditures and citizens covering 40%. It is emphasized that each individual can receive only one entitlement; for example, state welfare cardholders cannot claim Khon La Khrueng Plus benefits separately.
Under Thai Chua Thai Plus, beneficiaries will receive a total of 4,000 baht in aid, paid as 1,000 baht monthly over four months. Spending is expected to start from June to September 2026, with a daily spending limit of 100 baht (60% government support, 40% citizen contribution). Unused daily amounts can be rolled over to the following day, but unused monthly totals will not carry over to subsequent months.
