
Registration opens on 25 May 2026 GMT+7. “Thai Chua Thai Plus – State Welfare Card.” Payments of 1,000 baht per month for four months; the first phase in June-July provides 2,000 baht.
A reporter reported on the progress of the “Thai Chua Thai Plus” project. Recently, Mr. Akniti Nititanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed details of the project, stating that the Ministry of Finance has prepared plans to open registration for the measure to reduce citizens’ living costs amid the energy crisis by the Co-Payment Plus project. will be renamed “Thai Chua Thai Plus.” Registration will open from 25 May onwards through the Paotang application. A total of 30 million people, all citizens eligible, will receive 4,000 baht.
The “Thai Chua Thai Plus” project is divided into two stages to maintain continuity in stimulating purchasing power, divided as follows:
Unused funds roll over to the next day, but unused amounts in a month do not carry over to the next month. Additionally, each recipient may receive only one benefit; for example, welfare cardholders cannot claim Co-Payment Plus benefits.
State welfare cardholders, or low-income cardholders, will be allowed to re-register to enable poor individuals who were previously excluded to enter the system and to screen those whose financial situation may have improved, with about one month to set more appropriate eligibility criteria.
Initially, registrants can enter information via the Paotang app using only their full name and ID number, then await eligibility verification by government agencies.
Registration via the Paotang app is divided into two groups: those who have never received Co-Payment benefits and those who have previously received them, with the following steps:
For those who have never received Co-Payment benefits before:
1. Update the Paotang app to the latest version and activate G Wallet.
2. Open the Paotang app and tap the “Thai Chua Thai Plus” banner.
3. Accept terms and conditions and confirm registration.
4. Receive registration results via notifications on the app and SMS within three days.
5. Top up G Wallet before using benefits.
For those who have previously received Co-Payment benefits:
1. Update the Paotang app to the latest version and activate G Wallet.
2. Open the Paotang app and tap the “Thai Chua Thai Plus” banner.
3. Accept terms and conditions and confirm registration.
4. Receive registration results via notifications on the app.
5. Top up G Wallet before using benefits.
For identity verification using a Krungthai NEXT account:
1. Log in to Krungthai NEXT.
2. Enter the Krungthai NEXT PIN.
3. Tap the proceed button on the Paotang app.
4. Enter the OTP sent to the phone number linked to Krungthai NEXT.
5. Set a PIN code.
6. Confirm the PIN code.
Applicants must use a Krungthai NEXT account registered with the same ID number as on the Paotang app.
For identity verification by facial scanning:
1. Prepare for facial scan.
2. Scan face (can be skipped if the phone lacks a camera or it is damaged).
3. Set a PIN code.
4. Confirm the PIN code.
5. Enable facial recognition or fingerprint scanning.
6. Accept the Paotang app’s terms of use (mandatory for service applicants).
7. Display a consent screen for responses never given before (users can agree or decline).
8. While the system verifies user data, a message on the card reads “Verifying information.”
9. Upon successful registration, a Wallet card will be displayed as shown to enable service use.
Currently, the documentation is being finalized for presentation to the Cabinet meeting as soon as possible, since this is a project to help reduce citizens’ living costs. Details and eligibility conditions for registration will be reported later.
