The latest update on the 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' program: Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed details of the program. The Ministry of Finance has prepared plans to open registration for a measure to reduce citizens' living costs amid the energy crisis. The 'Khon La Khrueng Plus' program will be renamed 'Thai Chua Thai Plus.' Registration will open from 25 May 2026 GMT+7 onwards via the 'Pao Tang' application for 30 million people. Every citizen is eligible to receive 4,000 baht.
The 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' project is divided into two stages to maintain continuous purchasing power stimulation, as follows:
For the 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' money transferred by the government to eligible recipients and welfare cardholders, there is a condition that all funds must be spent within the month. Any unused amount of the 1,000 baht will not roll over to the next month.
Registration methods for 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' via the 'Pao Tang' app are divided into two groups: those who have never received 'Khon La Khrueng' benefits and those who have. The steps are as follows:
For those who have never received 'Khon La Khrueng' benefits before:
1. Update the 'Pao Tang' app to the latest version and activate G Wallet.
2. Open the 'Pao Tang' app and tap the 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' banner.
3. Accept the terms and conditions and confirm registration.
4. Registration results will be notified via 'Pao Tang' app notifications and SMS within three days.
5. Top up money into G Wallet before using the benefits.
For those who have previously received 'Khon La Khrueng' benefits:
1. Update the 'Pao Tang' app to the latest version and activate G Wallet.
2. Open the 'Pao Tang' app and tap the 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' banner.
3. Accept the terms and conditions and confirm registration.
4. Registration results will be notified via 'Pao Tang' app notifications.
5. Top up money into G Wallet before using the benefits.
For identity verification using a Krungthai NEXT account:
1. Log into Krungthai NEXT.
2. Enter your Krungthai NEXT PIN.
3. Tap the action button on the 'Pao Tang' app.
4. Enter the OTP sent to the phone number linked with Krungthai NEXT.
5. Set a PIN code.
6. Confirm the PIN code.
Applicants must use a Krungthai NEXT account with the same national ID number as registered in the 'Pao Tang' app.
For identity verification using facial scanning:
1. Prepare to scan your face.
2. Scan your face (this step can be skipped if the phone has no camera or it is damaged).
3. Set a PIN code.
4. Confirm the PIN code.
5. Enable facial recognition or fingerprint scanning.
6. Accept the 'Pao Tang' app terms of use (users must accept to proceed).
7. Display a screen for consent options the user has not previously answered (users may consent or decline).
8. While the system verifies user data, a message will appear on the card saying 'Verifying data.'
9. Upon successful registration, the Wallet card will be displayed as shown to allow users to apply for services.
The government has scheduled registration for the 'Thai Chua Thai Plus' program to open on 25 May 2026 GMT+7 via the 'Pao Tang' app. Spending through the program can begin on 1 June 2026 GMT+7.

2. Cannot be withdrawn as cash.
