Colorful Start to School Term: School Explains Viral No Face Masks Rule, Affirms No Punishment

Ban Suan (Jan Anusorn) School revealed the origin of the viral 'no face masks' warning to students, affirming it is simply a colorful welcome for the new term, not a fixed rule or subject to punishment.

Following the case of the Facebook pageBan Suan (Jan Anusorn) Schoolposting a notice about student dress code that went viral after warning students to 'avoid face masks,' which many liked and widely shared and discussed.

On 12 May 2026, reporters visited Ban Suan (Jan Anusorn) School in Ban Suan Subdistrict, Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province, where school administrators explained that there is no fixed rule prohibiting this; the issue arose from the student council's seniors reminding juniors.

Mr. Chalermkiat Samanpan, deputy principal, said that the school does not have such strict rules or prohibitions. The idea originated from the student council proposing to the administration to create a colorful start to the term, with seniors playfully warning juniors. It is just friendly teasing among students; the school has no fixed rules or punishments forbidding this.

Miss Krisadapa Rangsiyopas, student council president, told the news team that the post started because she saw this topic going viral. The student council wanted to attract juniors to come to school on the first day, so they decided to create this post. They did not expect it to become so viral and widespread.

She wants to encourage friends to appreciate their own natural skin color. If students dislike or feel insecure about their skin tone and want to apply face masks to boost confidence, that is fine. As students, she wants to remind juniors not to waste their parents' money buying expensive face mask creams, suggesting they use that money for more beneficial purposes.
