Basic Conditions for New Registration Round of State Welfare Cardholders to Receive the Thai Chua Thai Plus Cash Aid

An overview of the basic conditions and preparations for the new registration round for State Welfare Cardholders, also known as 'Poor Card' holders, to receive monthly financial aid, including the 4,000 baht "Thai Chua Thai Plus" assistance.

The Ministry of Finance is preparing to open new registrations for holders of the "State Welfare Card" or "Poor Card" because the data for 13.2 million cardholders has not been updated for a long time. Some individuals may now have increased income. To assist low-income people not yet in the system, AI will be used to help screen data.

Registration will open simultaneously for both existing and new cardholders on 25 May 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for State Welfare Cardholders

The basic qualifications for "State Welfare Card" or "Poor Card" holders are as follows:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Annual income must not exceed 100,000 baht.

Channels for registering for the new round of the State Welfare Card

  • Paotang application
  • State banks, such as the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), Government Savings Bank, and Krung Thai Bank.
  • Provincial treasury offices
  • District offices

State Welfare Cardholders Receive "Thai Chua Thai Plus" Cash Aid

The "Thai Chua Thai Plus" program will provide financial assistance to State Welfare Cardholders over four months, divided into two phases as follows:

  • Phase 1, from June to July 2026, provides a total of 2,000 baht over two months, with 1,000 baht per month. Existing cardholders (approximately 13.25 million people using old data), who previously received 300 baht, will receive an additional 700 baht, totaling 1,000 baht monthly for two months, with no matching conditions. Funds can be spent immediately.
  • Phase 2, from August to September 2026, also provides a total of 2,000 baht over two months, with 1,000 baht per month. Eligibility will be verified based on the new registration criteria requiring an annual income below 100,000 baht. Qualified cardholders will receive 300 baht monthly plus an additional 700 baht from the government, totaling 1,000 baht per month for two months.
    ** If cardholders do not meet the criteria, their benefits will be adjusted to those of the general public using the 'Half-Half' spending program via the Paotang app. **

When Will "Thai Chua Thai Plus" Funds Be Received by State Welfare Cardholders?

State Welfare Cardholders will receive aid under the "Thai Chua Thai Plus" program, starting from 1 June to 30 September 2026. Each month's funds must be fully used within that month and cannot be carried over. Spending is allowed at participating stores nationwide.
