Is 2 June 2026 a holiday?

Many wonder if 2 June 2026 will be a holiday. Previously, the Secretariat of the Cabinet planned to propose to the Cabinet an additional special official holiday, making the total official holidays for 2026 include two added special days: 2 June 2026 and 31 July 2026. This would have resulted in a continuous five-day holiday from 30 May to 3 June 2026, and a six-day continuous holiday from 28 July to 2 August 2026.

However, later the Cabinet meeting mostly agreed that since there are already several consecutive holidays each year, adding more could negatively impact businesses and employment. Therefore, they withdrew the proposal to study the potential impacts further, considering the sensitivity of the issue.

Consequently, 2 June 2026 is not an official holiday nor a bank holiday.
