FacebookNARIT, the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand,posted a message stating, "The astronomical calendar for 23 May 2026 notes the First Quarter Moon.
The First Quarter Moon is when half of the moon appears illuminated during its waxing phase (around the 7th to 8th lunar day). The moon forms about a 90-degree angle with the sun as seen from Earth, with the illuminated portion steadily increasing. The moon rises around noon, is high near the zenith in the evening, and sets in the west around midnight."
