Drinkers Rejoice: Alcohol Sales Allowed from 11:00 to 24:00 Starting Tomorrow (29 May)

The Royal Gazette website published an announcement from the Alcohol Control Committee lifting the ban on alcohol sales from 11:00 to 24:00 in certain areas, effective tomorrow (29 May).

On 28 May 2026, the Royal Gazette website published the Alcohol Control Committee's announcement regarding the prohibition hours for alcohol sales in 2026, stating that it is appropriate to revise the 2025 announcement on alcohol sales prohibition hours to align with current circumstances.

Under the authority granted by Section 16 (3) and Section 28, paragraph one, of the Alcohol Control Act B.E. 2551 (2008), as amended by the Alcohol Control Act (No. 2) B.E. 2568 (2025), the Alcohol Control Committee issues the following announcement.

Article 1: This announcement shall come into effect the day after its publication in the Royal Gazette.

Article 2: The Alcohol Control Committee's announcement on alcohol sales prohibition hours B.E. 2568 (2025), dated 1 December 2025, is hereby repealed.

. Article 3 No person shall sell alcoholic beverages outside the hours of 11:00 to 24:00, except in the following cases:

(1) Sales within buildings serving passengers at international flight airports.

(2) Sales at service venues operating within their legally prescribed opening hours.

(3) Sales at hotels in accordance with hotel laws.

(4) Sales within designated areas for alcohol sales at venues hosting events such as meetings, exhibitions, trade shows, performances, or similar activities; or sales at food or beverage outlets located within zones authorized for service establishments as specified by the Royal Decree on Service Establishment Zones in Rayong Province (No. 2) B.E. 2568 (2025), which fall under the Eastern Aviation City promotion area according to the Eastern Special Economic Corridor Policy Committee's announcements dated 13 February 2025 and 28 August 2025.

Article 4: Sellers permitted to sell alcohol under the exemptions in Article 3 must implement screening and necessary measures to maintain public order, ensure public safety, and restrict access to alcoholic beverages by children and youth.
