
Update: A 10-year-old boy who was abandoned is still at Mo Chit Bus Terminal. The Governor of Chonburi has sent the Child and Family Shelter agency to pick him up.
According to a Facebook user, a 10-year-old boy was abandoned by his mother at the Sri Thep fresh market bus stop in Sarakruat Subdistrict, Sri Thep District, Phetchabun Province on 28 May 2026 because she lacked money to buy a bus ticket. She and the younger sibling took a bus back to their original home in Chonburi Province. Fortunately, rescue workers and local villagers helped cover the boy's travel expenses to return home.
At around 17:30 on the same day, the 10-year-old boy arrived at Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal in Bangkok. Latest update (29 May 2026): Mr. Natchakitinan Yodsaiwai, also known as Chang Bia, the poster and a rescue official at Kok Sai Rescue Unit 20, Sri Thep District, Phetchabun Province, revealed that the boy had not yet reached his home in Chonburi by last night. The boy contacted someone at Mo Chit and told them he missed the bus and no bus was stopping where he waited. The rescuer then arranged for the boy to be placed under the care of the Mo Chit security chief for safety.
Most recently, it is known that the Governor of Chonburi has instructed the Child and Family Shelter agency of Chonburi to travel to Mo Chit to pick up the boy. They are currently en route. Further updates will be provided as available.
