Rescue teams have successfully brought out one person trapped inside a cave in Laos after more than 10 days, and are urgently assisting four others while searching for two more missing individuals.
Updates on the search for seven missing Lao nationals trapped inside a cave in Sayaboury Province, in central Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), since Tuesday, 19 May.
It was later announced that rescuers found five of the trapped individuals on 27 May 2026, while continuing to search for the remaining two and planning to evacuate those inside the cave, as previously reported.Read more: “Breaking! Most recently, it was reported that the Facebook pagePond Jakkrit Tangtona member of the Thai rescue team involved from the start of the mission, posted that they successfully brought the first trapped person out of the cave.
Similarly, the pageThailand Rescue Diver.posted that at 20:40 on 29 May 2026, the first victim was successfully brought out of the tunnel.
