A new registration round for the State Welfare Card is preparing to open. A proposal is set to be submitted to the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, 2 June 2026, to assist low-income groups.
On 1 June 2026, Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that the Thai Help Thai Plus project currently comprises two parts: individuals without smartphones or those with low income who use the State Welfare Card, which currently has 13.2 million holders. Those without smartphones are likely included in this group. Tomorrow (2 June 2026), the proposal will be presented at the Cabinet meeting, including a new eligibility verification process in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.
Therefore, those without smartphones—presumed to be low-income individuals—will be allowed to register within two months, starting from 1 July 2026, to qualify for the State Welfare Card. Details on any changes to the conditions will be announced after the Cabinet meeting tomorrow.
If someone does not have a smartphone and does not qualify for the State Welfare Card, they should contact the Ministry of Interior directly.
