5 Ways to Register for the State Welfare Card 2026: Where to Register?

After the Cabinet approved the registration for the State Welfare Card program for 2026, this initiative aims to assist low-income citizens who genuinely meet the target criteria, ensuring they receive basic government welfare rights and an improved quality of life.

Current holders of the State Welfare Card must register to confirm their eligibility to participate in the program. Registration to confirm eligibility is open from 4 to 21 June 2026. The Cabinet has assigned the Ministry of Interior, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and Pattaya City to survey eligible individuals who have never held a State Welfare Card before, using the Ministry of Interior's data system for those missed in welfare rights registration. The registration steps and channels are as follows.

Current holders of the State Welfare Card must confirm their eligibility by registering between 4 and 21 June 2026 through various channels, including:

1. The Paotang application

2. The Government application

4. ATM machines of Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited (Krungthai Bank)

5. Five registration centers: Krungthai Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Government Savings Bank, Government Housing Bank, and Islamic Bank of Thailand.

The Ministry of Interior, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and Pattaya City will conduct surveys of those missed based on the Basic Needs Database from the Community Development Department or the electronic family book system from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and register their data through the Ministry of Interior's system for checking missed welfare beneficiaries. Officials from the Ministry of Interior, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and Pattaya City will facilitate on-site registration directly in the local areas.

When will the results of the new 2026 State Welfare Card registration be announced?

Those who pass the eligibility check but have never held a State Welfare Card can confirm their identity from the announcement date (17 July 2026) through the Paotang app and the five registration centers, and can start using welfare benefits from 1 August 2026 onwards.

What to do if your State Welfare Card registration is unsuccessful?

Those who fail the eligibility check can appeal the decision through the Paotang app, the Government application, the websitehttps://welfare.mof.go.thorhttps://บัตรสวัสดิการแห่งรัฐ.mof.go.thand the five registration centers from 17 to 31 July 2026.

Applicants must correct the disqualifying information as notified at the eligibility verification centers by 16 August 2026. The Ministry of Finance will announce appeal results on 14 September 2026. Those who pass the appeal eligibility check can confirm their identity from the announcement date and use welfare benefits starting 1 October 2026.

Current holders of the State Welfare Card must confirm their eligibility for the "State Welfare Card 2026" under the new criteria as follows.

1. Must be Thai nationals aged 18 or older.

2. Must not be any of the following persons:

  • Monks, novices, hermits, or religious ascetics.
  • Prisoners, detainees, or persons in state care institutions, students.
  • Civil servants, government employees, or political office holders.
  • Employees or officials of government agencies earning over 100,000 baht per year.
  • Pensioners receiving government pensions or monthly allowances.
  • Shareholders, company directors, or partners in a partnership.
  • Persons with securities trading accounts or holding bonds.
  • Holders of ordinary life insurance policies paying premiums of 12,000 baht or more per year.
  • Persons who have used their name for tax deduction rights as a parent, spouse, or child.

3. Must have income or payments to any individual not exceeding 100,000 baht per year.

4. Must not have a credit card.

5. Must not have total credit loans exceeding 100,000 baht.

6. Must not have deposits or savings certificates totaling more than 100,000 baht per year.

7. Must not own real estate or must own real estate as follows:

  • Condominium units combined must not exceed 35 square meters in total.
  • Detached houses, townhouses, row houses, or commercial buildings combined must not exceed 25 square wah in total.
  • For farmers, land and residence combined must not exceed 10 rai.
  • For non-farmers, land and residence combined must not exceed 1 rai.

8. Must not own vehicles except for motorcycles up to 300 cc, three-wheeled vehicles, small four-wheeled passenger vehicles for hire, or agricultural vehicles—no more than one of each type.
