State Welfare Card Registration for 2026: Which Banks Are Available and What Documents Are Needed?

Registration for the State Welfare Card 2026, known as the poor card. The new round of registration is available at five bank registration units. Check which locations are available, required documents, and detailed identity verification steps.

The State Welfare Registration Project for 2026 has been open to the public from 4 June 2026 until 21 June 2026. The urgency of this registration arises because current cardholders registered since 2022, and some target groups were missed and could not join the previous rounds.

Therefore, to urgently address the issue of low-income individuals who have not received the State Welfare Card (Exclusion Error) and to ensure the correct target groups are reached in line with current circumstances, the project must proceed quickly. This runs concurrently with the Thai Help Thai Plus project, which aids all target groups during a period of rising energy prices and increased living costs.

Where to register for the new round of the State Welfare Card.

Existing State Welfare Cardholders (previously eligible) wishing to join the new registration round must "register to confirm their eligibility individually." The project provides five registration channels:

1. Via the "Pao Tang" application.

2. Via the "Thang Rat" application.

4. Through Krung Thai Bank ATMs.

5. By submitting registration at the registration units of five banks. Each bank offers services according to its own branch's operating days and hours.

Which banks accept registration for the "State Welfare Card 2026"?

You can register for the "State Welfare Card 2026" at the registration units of five banks, which are:

  • The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC).
  • Government Savings Bank (GSB).
  • Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited (Krung Thai Bank).
  • Government Housing Bank (GHB).
  • Islamic Bank of Thailand (IBT).

Registration units operate according to the business days and hours of each bank and branch.

What documents are needed to register for the State Welfare Card 2026 at banks?

The steps to confirm registration for the new poor card round, for existing State Welfare Cardholders, are as follows:

1. Present your national ID card to the bank officer to read data via the Smart Card Reader.

2. The system will display your name, surname, and birthdate for verification.

3. Enter a "contactable phone number" and press "Save Data."

4. The system will show the registration terms and conditions for the applicant to read and acknowledge at the bottom of the form, then click "Confirm." The system will display "Registration confirmation successful."

Note: In case of authorized registration by proxy, registration must be done at a registration unit only.

When will results be announced after registering the State Welfare Card?

The new round of the State Welfare Card project will announce eligibility results on 17 July 2026. Cardholders can start using their benefits from 1 August 2026 after identity confirmation. If identity confirmation (for new applicants) occurs after 1 August 2026, benefits can be used from the confirmation date.

Current recipients of the Thai Help Thai Plus (60/40) scheme who pass eligibility checks will receive State Welfare Card benefits instead of the Thai Help Thai Plus benefits.

Therefore, such individuals are urged to confirm their identity via the Pao Tang application to receive the State Welfare Card benefits from the announcement date (17 July 2026). Benefits will start on 1 August 2026. Failure to confirm eligibility before 1 August 2026 will result in termination of Thai Help Thai Plus (60/40) benefits as well.
