8 June "World Oceans Day" (World Oceans Day) invites everyone to join in conserving the seas and oceans to pass on their beauty and abundance to future generations.

FacebookDepartment of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservationposted a message about "World Oceans Day" stating, "Every year on 8 June, World Oceans Day is observed to raise awareness about the importance of the oceans and marine resources for the survival of humans and all living creatures worldwide. It was officially recognized by the United Nations in 2008.

The seas and oceans are facing threats from plastic waste, pollution, overfishing, and the impacts of climate change, which affect marine ecosystems and nature's balance. We can be part of conserving the seas and oceans by

• reducing single-use plastics,
• sorting and properly managing waste,
• not dumping waste into rivers, canals, or the sea,
• using marine resources responsibly,
• and helping to care for and restore coastal and marine ecosystems.

A rich and abundant sea is the foundation of a sustainable world. Let us join in conserving the seas and oceans to pass on their beauty and abundance to future generations."
